So, Last time in my final presentation I was hoping to have more "professional" architects coming. Nevertheless... I met just only one new guy in my presentation and the room was jammed up!
The strategy of making a "brief" resume and portfolio cute brochure is a great idea tho', specially if you are attending to a professional meeting where most of the guests are "high-end". However, the room was just full of juniors...cos they wanted to see what kind of tortures "we" (the grad in our last year) would get.

Yes...it was a LONG presentation!

If you see it closely, you actually can see the "ribbon"(it's actually wool) that was stating every title...implying the "ribbon"

The presentation went...pretty rough...that new guy acted super sour and bossy, but my professors loved it so,I give no shhh...

I Made my own bouquet..

Hi folks...FIRST OF ALL...please forgive me if I'm going to be posting a lot of DIY wedding stuff, cos... I just want to be relax in my wedding day with a big fat glass of margarita, sitting near the park and enjoying the rest of the day :)

since I am engaged...I'm thinking to mostly make everything hand made!

I mean...for real, wedding is the only exception to recklessly spend alot of money for stupid things that are not necessary . Give me a break! A tiny tinny cake toppers that cos $60? -___- I'm not doing this game! And then what? toss it away?

...

So. this is my trial to make a bouquet. I know it's not as nice as real flowers...but let's have fun with creation. I'm totally not a flower decorator, but who cares? As long as it will bring joy, besides...I'm an artists and also my fiance, we'll figure out stuff to make it "homy" and "fun"

The materials are all easy and cheap! couple wools, and feathers, unused fabric,and foams. PLUS! you can store it for as long as you want! you don't need to put them in a fridge or has to be in room with certain temperature bla bla...

So guys...wedding is supposed to be about you and your excitement! I'm very excited...and DIY wedding is very fun!!

I tried to make my own xmas tree...but it was not as good as I thought. cos neither I or Matthew had enough time to do it. Fortunately, I found this perfect cone metal in my office, so I brought it home and decorated it with ribbons and OFCOURSE my own ornaments.

MyDesign Development Presentation

Dec 6th was the Design Development Presentation and It had been weeks since I really got enough sleep. Frankly, it went so well and wonderful. My advisor and my professors were very happy. Plus the two guest juries (architects) were very pleased and amazed for what I had done. Thanks God!

Before I give you the entire designs, I would like to explain a little bit more about what is this good looking building?

So, My thesis design title is

"THE INSTITUTE OF HANDCRAFTING AND ENTREPRENEURSHIP"

Usually, I'm not a type of person who likes to lecture people or give them abstraction. But this time, I'm sure I need to.
Okay..let's start it!

My thesis comes from the fact that since long ago humans improved their ability to survive. They create, design, made tools or machines. Machines are capable of mass production, but also mass failure and mass destruction. Nowadays, people are coming back to the time when uniqueness is something valuable and prideful. This sense of appreciation provokes people to start creating their small business selling handcrafted products they made. Supported by the technology which has been rapidly improved, small business could easily expand internationally.

So basically, I'm designing a place (a media) where people can be trained to create something by themselves and not completely depending on the machines, there is going to be a conference room where the experts will be invited to demonstrate and to give a speech about selling products or making products, the members will also be trained to benefit the online technology to sell and to promote their works. Additionally, the physical store that this building has is to support the members to gain their communication skills. Therefor, the chosen member will get the opportunity to sell their stuff and actually learned how to be confident about their products.

All of the above are based on my experience, so...that really helps me to actually "feel" this project.

This is the formula of the ribbon. The ribbon represents GROWTH which is actually applied as a building system (floor, ceiling, wall, introduction of the room, boundary)

Hello again! I just came back from a short escape trip to New York. It was crazy fun! Matt and I got this great intense short trip to many places! we visited Madam Tussauds museum, MoMa, Metropolitan Museum, Guggenheim, Central Park, The statue, 911 memorial, Times Square, etc etc in 3 days!! exhausted but nutsly pleased!

The most fun stuff were Disney store and crafty park! I love characters! and I love disney! SO I went to this Disney store and shopped like madly pregnant woman! I tried to complete my disney characters, but I couldn't cos it was just too much! The things I bought...such are..

The Nightmare Before Christmas! Who doesn't like Tim Burton's movies?! (I have watched it back and forward over 7 times)

Alice in the WOnderland!

Winnie the Pooh and The little Mermaid! ( Believe it or not, I have watched the little mermaid movie 16 times :) )

Other characters that you may not recognize are characters I made. I just love designing characters :)

Not just those! We went to this crafty park at Bryant Park...and I found The most stunning New Yorker cover print!! SO I bought it! so as well as my fav "The Kiss" painting by Gustav!! AAAH! so happy!

ALright...this semester I'm taking a digital photography class just because! cos' somehow I need to take at least 3 classes/semester and I end up here... ALthough, I'm very particular and not a big fan of capturing "not-moving" object in wide angle..

Indonesian Idol fav!

We do have Indonesian Idol in Indonesia. I don't really watch that kind of show to be honest... but I have 2 idols from Indonesian Idol so far...I don't have many cos I think most of them are crappy (not being harsh...I just say) but not these 2 people! So happy cos' I can find one of them in twitter which actually humbly has followed my twitter account back! He is super nice and humble. Thank you! Okay...His name is Kunto Aji Wibisono (the other one is Mike Mohede) and I think he deserves this small gift cos' his performance was awesome the other day! and his voice it is really something! this his video that is amazed me so far HERE
Unfortunately he didn't make it...and I stopped watching indonesian Idol forever hahhahaha...anyway!

and also I would like to give you some kind of guidelines..of how the process has been done. Enjoy folks! Keep drawing and don't stop trying!

3D greeting Card : HOME SWEET HOME

I was asked to do another 3dimensional greeting card for A realty company based in New Jersey. So today I want to give you the process behind my adorable 3D cards :)

1. a small (8.5x13 cm) Cute cardboard box. You can find it anywhere in art supply stores!

2. I start drawing clouds with white pastel colored pencil! It wont faded!

3.Somehow I have corks in my room...So I'm planning to use it for the land on the background. cos Corks have this very homy warm color!

4.Start making clay - bake them - and paint them!

For the trees.. I make very simple trees. Cos SIMPLE IS MORE! and put a stick in it for the body.

I paint the cork using acrylic paint...and leave the bottom part as it is. cos' corks' color is very subtle and perfect for "land"

And then assemble all the items together...And here are the details...

I draw a small footway on the lid of the box...

Bcos...this is how You put the card on your desk as a welcoming decoration for your home! :)

3-D "Get Well Soon" Card!

I just got news a few days ago that My boyfriend's mom had a small accident. But gladly, nothing was serious. We both were planning to visit her this Wednesday in New York. I really have no idea what should I get her. cos' I want her to feel better. Absolutely not a package of fruit...imagine 4 hours trip carrying fruit in my hand. Nah! not a good idea.

Well...I came up with 3-D "get well soon" card. It's very handy and beautiful plus it's more valuable...cos' it's handcrafted by me :)

This time....I combine clay, paper, and paint :) It's really easy to make and can be customized!

I'll give you tricks!

1. You can buy this type of box anywhere! I found it in Papersource...and it less than $5! If you have more times, actually you can make it. It's very simple and easy!
2.You start painting!!
3.I'm making wallpaper pattern in a room...
4.How about a nice corner window and book shelvings?! why not! just be creative!

Et'voila! here we go the room! I just drew a rug, so it would look more homie :)

I just made a very simple clays for this one. and Let's start painting them!!!! ATTACK!!

AND TA-DAAAAA!!! Finish!!!! SUper fun isn't it??? I bet it is! Trust me! Handcrafted greeting cards are more appreciated!! You should try make your own!

The last but not least is... to wrap it up! Let's close the box and finish it up!

Yeah...somehow I do two professions..Being an illustrator and an interior designer are so complicated. Therefor, I invented this 2 in 1 business card!! an illustrated living room as a symbol of my double-professions! Hopefully it will work.

Can you see the dimension lines there? I love those...they are very architectural...although, I hate everything about architecture :P~

DIY WEDDING STUFF

Hello Folks...yeah I know it's been awhile...lately I'have thoughts to do DIY goodies for weddings. cos' just like my boyfriend says : Wedding is a good excuse to spend so much money recklessly!

You can Still make your own wedding goodies by yourself and trust me! the result will be amazing!! plus you can save a lot of money! you will be surprised of how good and creative you are at this!

Today I will present you my wedding cake topper and bouquet for groom and groomsmen.

Here it is my clay wedding topper! LOVE IT! :)

And for the grooms and groomsmen... Bouquets are optional ladies! So, don't be frantic if you find one tiny tinny small bouquet for very pricy price. I have an easy solution...PAPER! YES! it's very economic and you can keep it for years til the D-day.

These are the materials I chose : satin ribbon, red colored paper, printed newspaper pattern, a transparent table sheet, buttons, and pins! First of all, I sewed a 10 yards satin ribbon (white or whatever color you like) with red string, you can use sewing machine if you want.

I punched a 8.5"x11" white paper with a leave puncher. You can find the puncher at Paper source or check it online! They are in various shapes!

I'm ready to assemble them all!! Let's Glue them together!!

I added a clay button and painted with white paint...and name it one by one :) I KNOW! extra work! but FUN!

AND......HERE THEY ARE! I can keep them as long as I want.. it's cheap, fun, and beautiful! Hopefully will inspire you at some points! Have a nice weekend fellas :)

Yes!! THIS IS MY FIRST COLLAB-LUSTRATION WITH MY BROTHER, TIGOR!! AND YES!! we are both illustrators.. hahahha and we have so many things in common. We are dog people...we love drawing...we play more than 1 music instruments. we both play drum in churches sometimes guitar, we both love to share stories...we both love jokes...we are both gemini people and so on so on. Maybe we are twins..I'm just a year and a week older than he's.

I was asked to contribute one artwork for KOMIKMOMO...it's an Indonesian comic strips about a guy who is frankly meant to be single for the rest of his life. So, in this comic... I drew him as a "have no clue bout women at all" guy and asked me for an advice. Apparently he took everything I said seriously and obviously... Well...I guess he still ended up not having any positive response from the girl he was attracted to -__-' Therefor he's gonna die alone!! HAUHAUHAUAHUHAU peace out!

Everything about her implies how spongy and silly spongebob is :D

She is super nice...and I wanted to give her something special and artsy...Well here is my attempt..

I create a funny looking spongebob from color bids, u can find them in target...they call it Pixos I guess :D You better check their stuff...it's cheep :) And then I painted a Bikini Bottom in 4x6 canvas...it was pretty quick, I did it for a little less than an hour.

Then, I made a bubble dialogue using clay... I bake it and et voila!

Presenting my awesome and super talented student... Rosanne Halin! So, I ran this private art class PURPOSEFULLY to assist her in making her boyfriend's bday gift!!! A painting!! from the very bottom of her heart... (ouww :))

The first meeting...we did several watercolored experimental painting!! She did brilliantly already!! Isn't she great??

I was having a beautiful bday the other day...Yes June 11th was the day. Thanks to my lovely boyfriend for arranging such a memorable bday. He surprised me by having my friends over and my neighbor! It was wonderfuL!

A beautiful cake from the best baker ever...Rosanne Halin!! This one is nothing compare to all cakes she has made!! But this one is very special for me...LOVE IT!

A gift from my lovely Matthew Guempel...You are so wonderful! I just posted once bout how crazy I was wanting this M-studio on my fb, And YEAH! he got me! love you!

We went to Thai restaurant for my bday dinner, and had my best friend served us there, cos she was working there.

And Guess what?

We were showered by all the complimentary food! and this one is greentea, ginger, coconut mixed iceCream for my bday dessert!! It was unforgettable bday ever!! YES!! finally spring in Boston! after 9 months livin' in a cold winter with layers of jackets...Today was wonderful! almost 80F!! amazing! yeah you outthere in the west part of the country probably laugh at us! Don't worry, I'm planning to move somewhere warmer after I'm done with all this school crazy life! However, I want to post, the progress of the mural work I've been working on for this couple of months. I've been super busy and kinda excited! Hi everyone...sorry It's been awhile since i had my last post been posted. All around me are big madnesses. I've been busy finishing my thesis research...and hopefully I'll get it done by the beginning of May. Seems, like, so far I 've everything under my knee. And of course...start doing my mural art for a restaurant project in Dartmouth street. :)

The restaurant probably will be open at the end of may...and I can ensure, it will be fabulous! I'll post the progress of my abstract illustration drawing.

This is the actual first plan...which of course has been edited to fit the wall...yeah..!

This is hardly done...I still need a couple few hours to accomplish the entire things. Still have 2 giant columns rite next to it tho' Oh well...The red paint will be applied later after everything get approven.

Hi folks...I've been so busy with school...my thesis is going crazy...since I have no illustration up to be posted. I post my school stuff..hope you are still gonna like it! Well this is a shadow "wayang" puppet retail for my advanced.lighting class...huff...hope will get an A!
